Kennel Technician

Job Description:

Special Pals is seeking a dedicated full-time Kennel Technician to join our team. This role plays a pivotal part in the day-to-day care of our adoptable cats and dogs, ensuring their well-being while preparing them to find new homes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors and potential adopters.
• Organize and manage inventory as required.
• Engage in direct care and nurturing of the animals.
• Represent Special Pals at events outside of the shelter, promoting our mission and the pets available for adoption.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical labor in a partially non-air conditioned environment.
• Capability to lift weights up to 40 lbs.
• Possession of a valid class “C” driver’s license.
• Availability to work flexible hours, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week. It’s essential to be available on one or both weekend days due to high activity.
• Fluency in Spanish is a beneficial but not mandatory skill.

Compensation & Schedule:

• Hourly pay range is $10-12 based on relevant experience.
• Flexibility in hours, with a minimum requirement of 30 hours weekly. Weekend availability is essential due to increased activity.
